Karine Hains: Habs Quick Hits Earlier this week Juraj Slavkosky took part in the Upper Deck Rookie showcase, someone got back on the ice yesterday and this morning we learnt that a familiar face would have a new number this season.

Drouin should have chose "00", cuz that's what he is. Thank god this is his last season here!

It's cute how he thinks people actually care about him in any way shape or form.

hopefully it is his last season here, so tired of hearing people whining about him...

it's not because everything went wrong for him in MTL and that he never met expectations that he's a total piece of poop. jfc.

Yep. Pretty much when you're a perennial underachiever with a horrible attitude and work ethic, easily injured and discouraged and who's also on like STRIKE 7 in his useless career.

Did i miss anything? Or should we all just be Drouin apologists and keep making excuses for the poor little rich boy? He can't be gone soon enough.

Time to let go.

yeah well with all due respect, unless you know him personally I don't think you know anything about his "horrible attitude and work ethic"...

Fair enough. I just want him gone and the reminder of the worst trade in recent memory.

also, saying that he's "easily discouraged" is completely ignoring the fact that he had mental health issues. I know people think they have the right to poop on players as they wish because they're making millions but mental health exists for them as well lol

As I have said many times before, I hope his off ice issues are a lot better and he is in a better place with his life. And I mean that, don't wish that type of struggle on anyone.

But also, his on-ice performance since coming to Montreal has most people with a GTFO already. I doubt there is anything Drouin could do to for the majority of fans to want him back - including sharing a McDonald's meal for free tickets or the sudden unexpected looking to the left column.

agreed 100% with this. I just find reactions are way overblown since a lot of the criticism coming from fans doesn't even have anything to with his on-ice performance or even with hockey for that matter. people need to calm the (frank) down imho.

btw by no means am I a Drouin "defender", it's not like I appreciate what he did (or didn't do) during his tenure with the habs, I just feel it's a matter of common sense.

THIS

Wasn't poopting on his mental health as we all struggle from time to time....or more severely than others (as i do and haven't been working the last 6 months). I'm only basing everything from the eye test and on-ice performance.

I wish him well, and would buy his plane ticket too!

Even the years he was injured Drouin was producing at a 50 points pace. I know it's probably not what Bergevin was expecting when he made the trade, but I think it's time to accept that Drouin is what he is.

It's not his fault that the team sacrificed their best D prospect (back then) to get him. Personally, I was excited about the trade. I was sad to see Sergachev go, but I thought it was refreshing to see a local guy being excited to play here and sign a long term contract right away.

At this point, I think management just hopes he has a good season so they can flip him at the deadline. I don't think there is a future for him here anyways, and it's better this way for both parties.

Drouin would get a chance to play without the heat of being in a market always looking for their next local boy hope.

Fans will need to turn their ire on somebody else (I expect David Savard to be next).
